January 2013 Update - The Bear River Key Club

Recently the Bear River Key Club coordinated with their entire school and the Salvation Army and ran the Adopt-A-Family program for Christmas gifts. They had numerous volunteers working with Child Advocates of Nevada County at their Sees Candy Booth to raise money for local children.

They also developed and coordinated the first ever Bear River Coat Drive and collected about 150 coats that they donated to the Hospitality House for the homeless. It was an extremely rewarding service project and it involved the entire campus community helping local citizens in need.

The Bear River Key Club also had a few volunteers that worked for SYRCL at the Wild and Scenic Film Festival that recently completed.

For 2013 their main focus is on their hugely successful Bear River's Got Talent Key Club Variety Show. The show went from one night to two nights a couple of years ago and now the students really look forward to the show. The dates for this year's show are February 21st and 22nd. The money raised goes to three local organizations: SYRCL - South Yuba River Citizen’s League, KVMR and Child Advocates of Nevada County.
